The upper level (Level 3) featured an external deck that was leaking into the apartments below. Palatine won an open tender to remediate the deck, including the deck tiles, window joinery, and related works. The project involved scanning the existing slab to verify the location and depth of the steel reinforcement, as well as grinding falls (up to 80mm) into the concrete screed. This was followed by the installation of a new screed, waterproof membrane, and tiles on jack supports. Additionally, the existing upper-level aluminum joinery was upgraded to a double-glazed system. It was also found that the fire rating of the existing inter-tenancy wall had been compromised historically, necessitating the complete refit of the adjacent ensuite in the neighboring apartment.
